Sworn translations

We offer professional certified or sworn translation services tailored to the relevant competent jurisdiction.

What is sworn translation?

With sworn translation, the translator officially certifies the accuracy of the translation and its correspondence with the original text and assumes civil and criminal liability in a public deed.

Where does it take place?

The process is carried out at a notary’s office or at the court registry, and therefore takes the form of a public deed.
Documents that are to be used in foreign jurisdictions often require a further step, i.e. the affixing of an apostille or legalisation, and, in some cases, a consular visa.

Apostilles and legalisation

We offer a legalisation and apostille service, in accordance with current legislation.

What are apostilles and legalisation?

These are declarations made by the public prosecutor’s office or the prefecture certifying the authenticity of the notary or court registrar’s signature.
An apostille makes a document, certified in Italy, valid for use with the authorities of all countries that have signed the 1961 Hague Convention.

When is legalisation required?

Legalisation is needed when the country to which the document is addressed is not party to the 1961 Hague Convention. In this case, a consular visa may also be required.

Interpreting

Our specialised interpreters will ensure your conferences, meetings, board meetings, events, presentations or negotiations are a success.

What does interpreting involve?

Interpreting enables two or more people who do not share the same language to communicate. There are three types of interpreting: simultaneous, consecutive and chuchotage.

Consecutive
interpreting

Consecutive interpreting is carried out after the speaker's speech, at regular intervals, without headphones or receivers and with the help of notes. The speaker stops at the end of a section or after a couple of minutes and leaves the floor to the interpreter.
It is recommended for business meetings, interviews or short events where a word-for-word translation is not required. Unlike simultaneous interpreting, it does not require any equipment.

Chuchotage

Chuchotage is the simultaneous translation of speech where the interpreter whispers to a few people without any technical equipment.
It is recommended for meetings or conferences with only a few participants.

Simultaneous
interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting is carried out in real time by one or more interpreters who listen to the speakers through headphones and translate at the same time through a microphone connected to the headset/receiver. The audience can then listen to the translation through headsets.
It is recommended for conferences or events with a large number of participants.
